Let's deliver free Christmas trees to families in need!
This year, The Giving Trees is thrilled to partner with Cambia Health and its employees to deliver free Christmas trees (plus stands, lights, and ornaments) to Portland-area individuals and families who need an extra boost this holiday season.
Delivering Christmas trees is, by far, the most enjoyable and rewarding aspect of The Giving Trees. Whether you're delivering solo, with friends, or as a family, nothing compares to the interactions our 'reindeer' have when showing up at someone's door with a tree, other goodies, and a smile.
This season, we'll be doing deliveries on December 7-8 and 14-15.
If you want to deliver trees, sign up by Thursday, November 7th!
Signups for delivering Christmas trees closes on Thursday 11/7. If you sign up after 11/7, it's unlikely you'll be able to deliver trees this year, but we'll contact you next year.
Here's how it works:
You express interest in delivering trees (via the form below) by Thursday 11/7
We'll email you in early November to confirm your interest
We follow up with you to work out your delivery shift + number of trees
You come by The Giving Trees HQ in Portland on delivery day + pick up the goods
You deliver the trees, using your own vehicle, with the optimized route we give you!
Good for you to know:
Delivery Dates: This season, we will deliver trees between December 7-15th. Delivery volunteers will work with The Giving Trees team to determine which delivery slots work for you.
Vehicles: Delivery volunteers use their own vehicles to make the deliveries. Our volunteers have vehicles of all sizes, so we work with you in advance to determine how many tree packages will fit for you. We've had people in a Prius deliver seven trees before!
The Tree Package: Each delivery includes a 5-6' ft natural Christmas tree, plus a gift bag with a stand, lights, and ornaments.
The 'Drop': While we deliver the trees + accessories to peoples' doors, we do not decorate the tree for them. If they request your help putting the tree in the stand, that is 100% up to you.
Recipients = Clients: Tree recipients are our clients, and we take great pride in delivering outstanding client service. So, we ask our delivery volunteers to be prompt and professional in their communications with tree recipients, whether it's by phone, text, or in-person.
